Anyway! So! Updates!
First, what you all look forward to... the free comic!
This one is a 10-pager called "Work Day" that was published on the Challenger Comics site. Written by me, of course, with art by Leandro Panganiban and letters by E.T. Dollman. Go check it out. It's one of my favorite pieces I've ever written.
Also online, the January 2014 issue of Voluted Tales Magazine included my short story "The Capital Sense". Click the blue thingy to go read!
Next, I've updated my convention/appearances schedule. A few things I've already done, like a comic signing and a book-reading, have already passed but the rest is all up to date and in the future. Go check that out and find some place close to you where you can come see me and say hi.
Lastly, 'tis the time for Kickstarters. Lots of folks starting new ones and lots of new ones to check out. I'll steer you to this one here, BEYOND MODE 7, an anthology of Super Nintendo-themed comics and essays!
I steer you there because this is a worthy project and not only because I wrote both a comic an an essay for it *ga-hoyven*. Jesse and Randall are indie cartoonists and big-time video game fans, and I believe in both them and this project, in particular. Video games were a biiiiiiig part of my life growing up (I still game, but I have little time for it) and the Nintendo (and later SNES) was pretty much my world for many years. You may not have guessed this, but being an overweight, comic-loving kid makes you a target of bullies and whatnot, so the worlds of comics and books and video games were a necessary escape route for me. Video games perhaps especially, because there I could be the hero, the tough guy, the whatever - I was in charge.
Beyond that, no pun intended, BEYOND MODE 7 has a lot of talented folks contributing and it's a project I know you'll love once you get it in your hands.
