My third publication of 2023 is here and it's a very special one! The No Sleep Podcast has produced an audio drama of my short horror story "Suck it Up, Get it Done". You may remember this story as it was first published a full decade ago, and later included my story collection The Altar in the Hills. Now, it's been given a fresh lease on life thanks to NSP including it in its Suddenly Shocking volume 16 episode--a special episode for season 18 subscribers. They're taking pre-orders for season 19 now, but you should still be able to subscribe to season 18, the current season, and listen to Suddenly Shocking v.16, plus 25 regular episodes of the web's favorite horror fiction podcast!
So check it out, give it a listen, and enjoy! My second publication of 2023 is a crime story called "Nice Boy" published in Fabula Argentea eZine! "Nice Boy" is one of two very important stories to me that I had a hard time finding a publisher for, so I not only greatly appreciate Rick at FA's publishing it, I would really appreciate it if you'd give it a read and let me know what you think. It's only 3k words, but I think there's quite a bit to unpack there.
Issue seven of Guilty Crime Story Magazine is out now and includes my story "It's All An Act", plus six more brand-new pieces of crime fiction and a true crime article! Here's the full ToC:
"Sad Sack" by Colin Brightwell - Big Man and Scooter are celebrating Christmas with a little larceny. "Not Funny" by Jim Guigli - It's all fun and games 'til the comedian gets hurt. "Crank Baxter Ain't No God-Damned Christian" by Alec Cizak - Exactly what it says on the tin. "The Delphi Murders" (true crime) by N. Fraley "It's All An Act" by Brandon Barrows - Happiness turns tragic when the curtain rises on horror. "No Trouble" by Wayne McIntire - Ben tried to do a guy a favor and rope him into a murder. Now he's gotta get him out! "Conviction" by Anderson Barnes - Andy made a mistake, and he paid the price, but will anyone ever let him forget it? "Two Guys Walk Into a Bar" by Robb T. White - Two guys walk in, murder walks out! |
